About The Coaches
John Cacace is in his third year as head coach of the football program at Watertown High School. This is his second stint as a head coach after leading Sharon High School for two years and serving as an assistant at Newton North High School for five years. Coach Cacace will serve as the offensive coordinator of the team and also teaches math at the high school.
Bill Fratto is a physical education teacher at Watertown High School. This will be his thirty fifth year in the field of education. This is his third stint in the Watertown Football Program as well as coaching previously at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols Upper School and Belmont High School. He will be working with the offensive and defensive.
Steve Jordan enters his third year with the Watertown Football staff and seventh year working with Coach Cacace. After a six year tenure at Newton North High School working in special education, Steve currently works at the Massachusetts Association for the Blind. Steve will serve as the defensive coordinator..
Gary Bridge is in his second year with the Watertown Raiders staff. Coach Bridge had a lustrous career as running back and defensive back at Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Bridgewater, NJ. He will look to bring the same intensity and attention to speed and footwork to the running back and defensive back cores of the Raiders. Coach Bridge will also be working to develop players on the Junior Varsity level. He teaches chemistry at the high school.
Phil Oates is a former Watertown Raider, class of 2001. He played football, basketball, baseball and track during his time at WHS. He spent four years at Tufts University as a math major and football player. He is currently teaching math at Watertown Middle School. He coaches the freshman.
Phil Martin has worked in the Watertown School system since 2002. He is
currently a 7th grade math teacher and has been in that role for seven
years. Coach Martin's coaching experience includes Middle School
basketball as well as Middle School and AAU baseball. Coach Martin is in
his third year of coaching the freshman team.
Andrew Scopais a physical education teacher at the Hosmer and Lowell Elementary Schools in Watertown. He is a former Watertown Raider, Class of 1989. Andrew played football, basketball, outdoor, and indoor track while at Watertown High School and also played football at Framingham State College from 1989 to 1991. He holds an MS in Movement Science with a Specialization in Sports and Exercise Psychology and is in his second year assisting the Watertown Raider Coaching Staff as a offensive and defensive line coach.
Bob Hebert coached the Watertown Pop Warner for 10 years before joining the high school staff this year. He spent four years at Wesleyan University where he played linebacker. Bob has an MBA from Bentley University and is the Director of Operations for a specialty counseling firm in Watertown. He will coach on both offense and defense.
